Wow - powerful last line!
Thanks for appending the facts, it helps put the final words in perspective. Your three lines say a great deal about the color of a short, unhappy, intense life. I also got somber feeling from this picture, which I don't normally associate with Van Gogh.
Very powerful... fantastic word choice!
SPECTACULAR, arrresting and glorious. The last line packs a punch.
striking painting - striking haiku!
'his canvas of death' - chilling!
The last line was so powerful and unexpected.
Lovely - you make every word count.
I love your haiku .... love it!
That's a wallop. So sad, but true.
powerful - succinct - WOW
"...lupine lines." What a phenomenal phrase. Thanks for also including the facts Van Gogh. I've loved his work for the past 4 decades.
not then, not yet.I can't see this picture as presaging death. If so, his whole life story is one of doom.(I saw that you have appended some facts about the man he was)But I have no quarrel with the form and impact of your haiku. Excellent, as always.
I can always rely on you for a fitting Haiku.....!
Amazing haiku that last line blows me away!
Beautiful and dark.
I agree with Janice, of Jabblog, this is chilling, indeed. Very well done.— KKay, Alberta, CanadaAn Unfittie's Guide to Adventurous Travel
