Like 'yolk of eye'
i loved this, 'lightly poached, a yolk of an eye'...only you could have made me taste this eye! well done magpie!
an interesting piece...what is it that the two lovers seek...yolk and birth, for thier relationship or to bring a new life into this one...nice magpie.
Yeah, I like your treatment of this! Lightly poached, brilliant touch!!
that's a striking title-first stanza entry.macabre and yet works. the white of eye, white of egg are similar. that would work by itself.
Loved the way you used words to create such vivid images ....
"...lightly poached a yolk of eye" is brilliant!!! I love this.
Oh, great vision in this poem, TW.
This was wonderful, I loved reading it. The last stanza is particularly poignant, it sang to me.

..lovers pursue the absent key..one hopes they find it! Thank you...
totally different from everyone else's! made me read, think, re-read, and think some more. sign of good writing. :)

Food for the window to the soul? ;)
Dear Tumblewords: Wow! The literal meaning melts away when this "egg salad surgery" feast becomes a pursuit of lovers;"lovers pursuethe absent keyfor a single sampleof this yolk of eye"The things people get into, methinks there is far more going on here than just a dainty dish set before these lovers; the poached eye; it is so much more than can be described; a truly soulful dish which will change the lovers indefinitely most definitely! Excellent imaginings!
Very suggestive absences ... missing jar ... the absent key. The image of lightly poached for a yolk of eye is great.I am here returning your visit. Nice blog, TW. Keep the sunnyside up!
